Metso has delivered the first valves with 3D printed parts from its Helsinki plant. The valves include 3D printed metal components that allow the valves to perform in a particularly demanding application where they need to withstand numerous fast open-close cycles without maintenance.
During its 150 years, Metso has been in many businesses, ranging from steam engines, locomotives, car manufacturing, forest machines, and pulp and paper machines, to valves, metal and waste recycling equipment, and solutions for rock and mineral crushing and screening, to name but a few.
Metso signed a total of 24 new distributor agreements globally for its valve and valve controls businesses during 2017. The agreements cover many countries in Europe, such as UK, Spain, Croatia, Turkey, France and Benelux, and include four new distributors in India and Brazil.
Metso's valves service center in Turkey has relocated to S�¶ke in the Aegean region to be close to important customer hubs. The new location and larger facilities strengthen Metso's presence and ensure better service availability for customers in an area that has lacked a service center of this volume.
